A vast, forbidding landscape - rocky, unvegetated, windswept. Through the driving sandstorm a great DOME of smooth, translucent material rises from the dunes. Inside a group of youths is preparing for a mission. Their attitude is grim and vengeful as they enter a chamber, set a time zone and vanish. In a neatly landscaped metropolis we re-meet our familiar characters: NOAH DANILES, his sister BECKY, their parents LIZ and SIMON, and ARUSHKA, KWAN and CHIP. This is ELYSIUM, in the new future which NOAH created when he stopped the NEMESIS COMET. The two worlds meet when the gang of rebels target the DANIEL'S house. ARUSHKA, KWAN and CHIP discover the covert raid and, during a struggle, ARUSHKA, is seized by the intruders and drawn into a ripple of blue light. Bewildered, CHIP and KWAN watch her vanish. In ELYSIUM, NOAH is revered as the most prodigious young scientist of his time. Thanks to his mastery of quantum physics he has been able to open a wormhole connecting Earth via instantaneous space-travel to E DELTA, a planet in a neighbouring galaxy. Two months ago the first group of colonists were sent there by the NEW HORIZON FOUNDATION, the scientific hub of ELYSIUM. It doesn't take NOAH long to unravel CHIP and KWAN'S confused eyewitness account and work out that ARUSHKA has been abducted through space and time. ARUSHKA is a prisoner of DRAKO, handsome teenage leader of the raiding party. In her escape attempt she learns the punishing rules of the E DELTA environment. During the four hour day when the Red Giant sun is up, the heat makes it impossible to survive. It seems all life on E DELTA is contained within the DOME where DRAKO rules by dint of his magnetic and arrogant personality. He is aided by IVAN, his ambitious lieutenant and APRA, professional hacker and amateur astrologer. Both are also teenagers. In fact the entire population of E DELTA is no older. This is E DELTA in a time zone forty five years further on than Elysium. In that interval an interplanetary war has been waged, leaving the young survivors with a strong vendetta against Earth and, in particular, NOAH DANIELS, NOAH became the Director of the FOUNDATION and discovered that E DELTA was in a state of irrevocable decay. It was his recommendation to discontinue any terraforming which sparked the war. The E DELTA KIDS hold NOAH responsible for the death of their parents - who never returned from a truce mission to Earth - and have been working towards an elaborate plan for revenge ever since. In a series of raids on Earth they gather the information and equipment needed to explode one of the asteroids in the THUNDERSTONE RING - an ASTEROID BELT which has benignly orbited Earth ever since NOAH shattered the NEMESIS COMENT. By destroying one of the asteroids DRAKO and his followers create a ripple effect; the entire ASTEROID BELT is thrown out of orbit, sending it spiralling in to crush Earth. In their fight against the E DELTA KIDS our heroes make new allies: the hologram CURLY COLLINS, leader of the old E DELTA whose personality and thoughts are stored electronically; and CLIO, a twelve year old girl who is less hardened than the other E DELTA KIDS. Helped by his botanist father, physicist mother and intrepid sister NOAH devises a way to save the Earth and the dying planet, E DELTA, where ARUSHKA with her horse, MOSHI has shown DRAKO the importance of living in harmony with animals and nature. NOAH integrates space and time technologies with his knowledge of THUNDERSTONE in a bold operation. With the help of his mother he wormholes the THUNDERSTONE RING through space and time to the E DELTA galaxy. Then, planting a device into the rock, he atomises the ASTEROID BELT into particles which fall softly to the surface of E DELTA, TERRAFORMING the soil with their THUNDERSTONE content. The habitat on E DELTA flourishes under the nourishment of the THUNDERSTONE mineral. Vegetation abounds. The DANIELS family have settled in their new world, unspoiled and full of promise. NOAH has located the lost truce party of E DELTA adults in a time warp and organises their return. ARUSHKA, NOAH, KWAN and CHIP - aided by DRAKO - have lost no time in populating the burgeoning landscape with every species of animals. More new worlds will be settled by human kind, but thanks to NOAH and ARUSHKA'S experiences, it is accepted that no new world is worthwhile unless humans share it with animals.
